SEO is fast becoming one of the most paid professions around. And we are still in the pioneering stages. Wonder how will SEO look in 10 years?
Let’s peer into my crystal ball shall we?
I see con artists, fools parting with their money, and snake oil. LOTS of snake oil. Looks no different than today, or ten years ago.
By the way, if I didn’t say this beforehand, welcome to SitePoint!

Why ‘nofollow’ and ‘noindex’ are tags not a standard HTML?
Because their job can be handled by a robots.txt file. Anything that can be done to reduce the weight of an HTML file, and reduce the maintenance of a Web site (especially for those stuck on free hosting sites that don’t allow for server side includes or a server-side programming language like PHP) is obviously beneficial and preferred to putting in HTML that may have to be removed or modified later on (I learned this the hard way back in 2002).
Thanks, Stymiee!
This is very helpful.really
I found Aspen few months ago.
good work!
Because they don’t need tags or attributes for that as they already exist. They can be used in Meta tags or the REL attribute of Anchor tags.

SEO is trial and errors… Use those things that effective and discard those are not…
It’s only trial and error if you have no idea what you’re doing. Same with everything else in life.
Thanks for a great contribution.
Hope I can catch up all of these knowledge.
Posting comment in blogs is another way to link building as they say. Is it useful if I am going to use for example “website promotion” as my name when I post comment than my real name “Peter”? because as said above, anchor text is necessary…so wordpress makes your name as anchor text to your link when your comment is published…am I right or wrong?
Most blogs use nofollow in their links so those links are essentially invisible tot he search engines.
Tell me the different betrwen “LinK” and “Link:”
when search in search engine!
