I need some help with a SEO related issue, recently for some reason google has dropped our site from it’s local listings, which has caused us to disappear for a day or two, but oddly enough we’re back but listed way below.
I’ve been asked to compare our competitors sites to ours and give an answer of “Why do they rank better then we do”, I of course point the finger to content, we lack it and need to do a major revamp on our site, content wise.
However I need to present this tomorrow and I’m at loss… currently i have pages and pages of competitor sites printed our and I’m numbering down keywords that we would like to be found by, that appear on our competitors sites and going to count it up and compare it to our site. I assume, a SEO newbie, that this will give me an answer that I can present to my boss and tell him in layman terms, why our site sucks at the moment.
Is there a better way to do this? What should I be focusing on to come up with major differences between us and our competitors sites, when it comes to being listed higher in google. Mind you, some are listed on google search (organic) and some on google places higher and lower…
Your website needs work. I took a look at it and under the Project tab, it’s a bunch of giberish… very confusing. You need to make major changes. The search engines pick up on things like that.

You did not mention which is your web site and for which keyword you dropped in local listings. I think you got listed your web site once in top lists and later dropped down. Are you the person optimizing the site? did u tried any black hat methods…check your meta tags, robots.txt file accidentally added any no-follow? please go through Site:www.yourdomain.com results and check which all pages are indexing in Google…whether your index page is resulting if not there will be some spam issue. Do a better analysis on index page and try again.
You’re the only one having problems opening the site, i’ve asked other people to go to the link i’ve provided you with and they’ve confirmed it works, and it works for greatrates who saw the site and gave me feedback. Check your security settings/firewall if it’s preventing you to access the page.
No. Its embarrasing. Its not at all opening. Just a waste of time. Just edit your link and give it as www . example . com or better take the tick out from Automatically parse links in text below. Or else MODs in SP will handle you in different way.
