Cut logo

Hi all,

I have one question here…

I have a logo but comes with the white background in bmp…

The problem is… i just want the logo not together with the white background. I have tried using photoshop CS but didnt work.

Please let me know how to do it using photoshop cs.

Thank you in advance.

Convert the photo to black white then try by select

Open up the image in PS (the .bmp)
press ctrl + a (select all with marquee)
press ctrl + c (copy)
press ctrl + n (create new)
press enter to create new document
press ctrl + v (paste)
select the magic wand tool (hotkey W in CS4)
click on the white background of the image
press del (delete, duh lol)
in your layers menu, click on the one that says “Background”
edit > fill > color you want the bg to be (or delete the background layer and save as transparent gif/png

done

Or, if you’re using it on a light background, change the mode of the layer to multiply and the background will disappear.

If you need it on a dark background I’d recommend either redrawing it or taking the time to source a vector versions (from a PDF for example). I’d only do Keenan’s suggestion if the BMP file is massive in size and/or resolution - purely from lots of experience!

Convert the photo to black white then try by select… is easy.

Did you try to click on the white background with the magic wand which should select the background, then reverse the selection. Cut the logo part from the background. Create a new file with an invisible bg using the pasteboard as the size of the image. Paste your logo into this new file. Then save.

Not sure but you may have to save the image as a gif to keep the invisible bg.

Hope that helps.
