Code to play MP3 ON end users computer

Sirs,

Not sure what forum to ask but here goes. If I am in the wrong place - I am sorry.

I have a Website I am building for upload. Building in XHTML/CSS. I want to make available a mp3 excerpt for the end user. However, I do NOT want the end users player activated, (which it does with a separate window.) What is the coding to allow my Website to play the mp3. I have seen this on numerous Websites and they use a little oblong box or music type icon. How do I do this?

Typically, you’d use some sort of JavaScript or Flash plugin. Check out these ones, for example:
