Client server details

Hi,

Before I take a client’s server maintenance, what are all the details I have to fetch from the client before taking the server into my control?

Type of server? Thus gives you what you need which for

Windows…
RDP details, username, password, domain?

Linux
SSH details, username, password, super user capabilities? (sudo or root’s password?)

KVM access?
IP Restrictions on logins?

Also ask them about the free installation software…

I would say NOC/ DC account details as well. Server management would also include reboots / powercycle etc and sometimes hardware help. So would be handy to have the account details just in case.
