Can I sell themes made using Starter Theme?

Hi,
I don’t know very much php but I can easily tweak and make WP themes using Starter Theme using Starter Themes like Underscore, Roots and Backbone etc. My Question is that can I sell me my theme created using these starter Themes?

What do the original themes say about copyright?

I really don’t know! I’m not able to understand the license.
the Root theme has WTFPL while I think Underscore have GPL License

Well, then, the first thing to do is to understand the licenses and what you are and are not allowed to do.

If you have licence than u can sale theme other wise copywriter case…So i suggest you u can sale your theme templet monster …

The Underscore home page says

The GPL license in license.txt

So presumably you got that file when you downloaded. What does it say?

So it looks like there are two possible ways to receive income

  • Distribution
  • Warranty

But, because your derivative work has, and in fact must have, the same license as the free work your work is derived from, anyone may do the same with your work.
