Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, so I apologize if I started a thread in the wrong place. I would also like to thank everyone in advance for the help and knowledge.
I have been reading and researching a lot over the past four or five months now about the many different ways to go about creating and managing a website. I have flip flopped back and forth between many different ideas, domain names, hosts, etc. I really wanted to be an affiliate marketer, and have a site where I inform others about products, and get a percentage of the sale. I really like the idea of that. Problem is that I could never decide what niche to pick, or which affiliate program to sign up with.
After a lot of thinking, I decided that I was going to create a wallpaper website. (yes I know that there are tons of them, and it will probably be very hard to get traffic or anything like that for quite some time). I really want to make a clean site, without all the garbage that come with most of them. I have purchased a domain name that I am fond of, and plan on signing up with Hostgator as my web host. Not really sure how I want to go about creating the site, as I have pretty much zero experience coding in any language. My options now would be the sitebuilder with Hostgator, or iWeb, as I have a mac and it is already installed for free.
I guess my main question is if any of you know how I would go about creating the website. More or less how I would get the thousands and thousands of wallpapers that these sites seem to have. (even if many of them seem to be duplicated) I have read that many just copy and past the wallpapers to their sites and that is why they have so many of them. I really like designing wallpapers. I use Photoshop and Pixelmator to do so. (mainly pixelmator) I love designing them, but I’m not sure if i can pump out tens of thousands of wallpapers any time soon.
I guess thats it for now. Also, any advice or info is welcomed. I would love to have constructive criticism, as this is my first website, and am really looking forward to creating it and making it clean and easy to use. Sorry for the long post.
