ftp: 500 command erro
using ws_ftp le to log onto a site thru a firwall proxy
get error message open ftp.xxxx.xxx.xx 500 command error connect to final destination, so quitting any ideas........ |

I could be wrong but I think it is a timeout error. There could be something up with your host.

500 Syntax error, command unrecognized. This may include errors such as command line too long.

problem persists
hi,
thanx 4 ur prompt replies have tried inc timeout from 65-100 the host is ftp.galileo.spaceports.com and the directory to upload is /public_html this is how i have configured the connection i have not been able to log on the site at all ksqs |

Well, for a start Spaceports sucks! It is probably something to do with them.

similar prob at coolfreepages
doesn't seem to be the host
i get a similar message when i tried to log into the coolfreepages ftp site using the same ftp client |

Hmmmm.... have you tried entering your Firewall proxy info into WS-FTP?

log-gateway ready
the log of the ftp client states that
the gateway ftp proxy is ready open eable.galileo.spaceports.com so my firewall is not the problem think i wil try a new ftp client neopages sounds great. suspended new apps from 27th and i need a site up somewhere to apply. thanx for the suggestion though. wil try to host there ksqs |

the prob waz fire wall
hi,
this is just to inform people who wil be accessing the post later the prob as i later found out was in the login to firewall. i was using proxy when i tried user no logon it started functioning |
