My new website for World Cup fans

I am have been working on this website as a side hobby for a few years. It’s hard to find quality content about past World Cup tournaments and how your favorite countries faired in the past. This website hopes to cure all of that.

The website has all games going all the way back to the first World Cup in 1930. You can also view the history and stats for each and every country that has ever made it into the tournament. The Stats page has some interesting data about all times across the history of the World Cup.

I made it for the world to enjoy for free. I hope that you enjoy it. Please share it with your friends if you find it useful.

Thank you for sharing your website! It’s really impressive how you’ve compiled such detailed information about the World Cup history in an easy-to-understand format. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of effort and passion into this project. I’m sure many football fans will find it very useful and enjoyable. Keep up the great work.

Really nice project. One small thought: the By Country / By Tournament sections feel a bit like current World Cup stats. My humble advice… It gives more vibe of current world cup tournament rather than history. Since this is about history, adding some visuals or references to legends like Pelé, Maradona, Cruyff, Beckenbauer could help give it more of a classic World Cup feel. Overall, great work.

This is extremely helpful and well-organized. The brackets and history are very easily readable, which is not something one can commonly find in the same place. I am impressed by how far back the records go, as well as the country statistics being fun to analyze. Also, I run my own football site where live FIFA matches can be accessed for free by football fans. Such types of resources are bliss for those who enjoy analysis as well as live action.

For the upcoming World Cup, you could add the date and time (local and user’s time) for each game as well as their location.

That said, on a desktop, you’re wasting premium space

On smaller screen, it is a tad better, but still the flag is too big as well as the margin above.

Sometimes I forget that not everyone has high resolution displays. I can make that a bit more compact.

That makes at least 2 of us!

Really impressive work…! Having World Cup data going all the way back to 1930 is rare and super useful. I follow football closely, so combining this kind of history with live sport content makes the experience even better.

I really appreciate the work you’ve put into this project. It’s clear that a lot of time and passion went into compiling historical World Cup data, and the depth of information, especially having matches going back to 1930 and detailed stats for every participating country, is genuinely valuable. As someone who enjoys both football history and data-driven content, I found the site very interesting and useful.

From the OWDT perspective, this is exactly the kind of passion project that can grow into a strong authority resource with a few refinements. The content itself is solid and fills a real gap, but improving content structure, internal linking, and on-page clarity could make it even more discoverable and user-friendly. For example, clearer navigation paths, stronger contextual links between tournaments, countries, and stats pages, and small UX enhancements would help users explore the site more intuitively.

Overall, it’s a great free resource for fans, researchers, and football enthusiasts. With some continued polishing in design and SEO, I can see this becoming a go-to reference for World Cup history. Well done, and thank you for sharing it with the world.
