Looking where we cannot see - Using infrared light to reveal the secrets of planet formation

Our eyes are brilliant – but they are not without their limitations. They are insensitive to light at wavelengths shorter than about 400 nanometres (Violet light) and longer than about 700 nanometres (Red light). But there’s a wealth of information contained within these invisible wavelengths of light. This talk explores the cool techniques astronomers use these wavelengths and how we can use them to better understand our solar system.
