Cloud/Infrastructure Architect

THE ROLE As a Cloud/Infrastructure Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing our cloud and infrastructure strategies to support our business objectives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will design, deploy, and optimize robust cloud-based solutions and infrastructure that drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency across our global operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Cloud Strategy Development: Lead the development of comprehensive cloud strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Architecture Design: Design and architect cloud-based solutions, encompassing infrastructure, platforms, and services, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies. Designs should be well documented and cater for multiple audiences. Infrastructure Planning and Deployment: Define and implement infrastructure components on public, private, or hybrid cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost optimization. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams, promoting best practices, standards, and methodologies in cloud and infrastructure architecture. Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including IT leadership, software developers, and operations teams, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with architectural standards. Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and compliance standards across cloud environments, ensuring data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, conduct performance analysis, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Vendor Management: Evaluate and select cloud service providers and technology vendors, managing vendor relationships and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met. REQUIREMENTS Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with relevant certifications preferred. Strong understanding of infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture. Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Strong Cyber security experience, designing a Infrastructure that supports Cyber security standards up to ISO 27001. Infrastructure knowledge to support modern network technologies including SD-WAN, and Cyber security controls. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Proven experience (5 years) as a Cloud/Infrastructure Architect or similar role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Fluent in English
