Job details

Software Engineer x 2 Remote, UK, with circa 10% travel to the North-west of England. Permanent hires. Our customer is embarking on a growth journey off the back of winning a huge automotive project for an OEM customer in the North-west of England. Now its time to deliver against that project. As a software engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering customer software solutions in-house but also rolling it out as the customer's site. This will include defining the software requirements, developing applications within an agile environment, conduct code reviews, testing and more, all within the complete SDLC from a C#/.Net perspective. In terms of real-life applications, this will be working within an automotive paint facility, where there are multiple third-party SCADA implementations, systems which collect time, date, temperature, paint viscosity data and more. In terms of the programming, a lot of it is based on templates of projects they have already delivered, however being able to write code from scratch is necessary. What will you need in order to be considered? Ideally educated within the field of IT, software or computer science. A proven background in software engineering or software development, ideally within an factory or machinery automation environment. Working knowledge and industrial experience of C# and .Net languages. Exposure to low-level programming (PLC - Siemens and/or Beckhoff) and SCADA would be advantageous. Willingness to travel circa 10% for debugging phase. To be considered, please click 'Apply' or reach out to Ben Wiggins at Talos Automation to discuss further.
