Job: Junior Software Engineer Location: Antrim (1 day a week office-based) Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 Search 5.0 is delighted to be recruiting a Junior Software Engineer for a local tech company making big waves on a global stage Even having a direct impact on US elections, who would have thought? Job: Junior Software Engineer We are seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Software Engineer to join a small-knit (but growing) team of 10. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent computer science / IT graduate to kickstart their career and work on a variety of tasks in understanding a product software company from maintenance and support to new implementations and coding. Initially, you'll focus on enhancing one of our key products, including the development of a new module. Key Responsibilities: Product Development: Collaborate with senior engineers to design, code, and implement a new module for one of our flagship products. Maintenance & Support: Assist in the maintenance of existing systems, providing support and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Bug Fixes: Identify and resolve bugs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring a seamless user experience. Accessibility: Implement accessibility improvements to ensure our products are usable by all individuals, including those with disabilities. Development: Utilise PHP, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS Database Management: Write and optimize SQL queries to interact with and manage our databases. Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team including designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 1 year experience working in an IT environment (including placement) Programming Skills: Experience in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS or willingness to learn Database Knowledge: Experience with SQL and relational databases. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Attention to Detail: Ability to write clean, well-documented code. Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with others. Passion for Learning: Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve your craft.
