A high performing, prestigious, multi-strategy hedge fund, expanding its footprint in Europe, are looking to hire an operations analyst as part of its expansion plans for London. Working in a small team, ‘operations’ is broad at this firm in the sense that most back office tasks are outsourced, so the BAU remit is predominately focused on oversight high level analysis / commentary (of what is produced externally). Minimal manual work allows for lots of time to spend on technology buildout projects, ad-hoc project work for the desk, and more business focused projects (typically focused on new launches) alongside the European head of operations and business Management team. The nature of the work means that the hire can expect to regularly use VBA, SQL and/or Python in this role. Progression can be into trader assistant, business management or more FO aligned roles, however there is a direct route to operations manager from this seat. The ideal candidate should have roughly 3-6yrs relevant experience, but there is flexibility either side. My client has a strong preference to consider candidates with strong VBA, SQL or Python skills. They also pay close attention to excellent academic profiles and industry qualifications. Whilst this is a line analyst level role, if can pay up to a £100k base and a conservative estimate on bonus is 50% (with the variable either side to be considered alongside both individual and fund performance). Employees receive a fully subsidised daily allowance for breakfast & lunch, fully subsidised membership at a local gym, 10% pension, gold private medical and an annual allowance to use on industry qualifications / personal development. My client is also committed to buying out the hire’s expected 2024 bonus in full.
