Software Development Lead - Manchester Office - Hybrid working model, with 2 days per week in the office. - £65,000 - £70,000 - 15% bonus Are you ready to join a company at the forefront of an exciting transformation? As a Software Lead, you'll play a crucial role in delivering innovative features on their leading FS platform. You will be part of their global Data & Product team, working within a cross-functional feature development squad to create impactful solutions. This role, originally outsourced, is now in-house, providing you with great autonomy to take ownership and make a real impact. You'll work directly for the CTPO and have the opportunity to be led and coached by a highly experienced C-suite member. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with your development squad to define, elaborate, and refine requirements for new features. Contribute to regular sprint planning, ensuring all active stories and tasks are up-to-date. Attend daily stand-ups, providing updates and addressing critical blockers. Engage in architecture design for new features with a focus on security, scalability, and robustness. Maintain a consistent focus on software quality through collaborative code and architecture reviews. Learn, adopt, and promote best practices such as TDD, BDD, pair programming, and design patterns. Work with your team to build new features, design concepts, and interactive UX prototypes. Promote best practice UX standards throughout the product. Stay aware of emerging technology trends, researching and applying new ideas to improve their build processes. Act as a mentor for peers and juniors, ensuring cross-pollination of skillsets within the team. What you can bring: Essential Skills: 3-4 years of professional experience as a full stack engineer. Experience working collaboratively as part of an Agile development squad. Fundamental knowledge and experience in operating data and analytics platforms. Core skills supporting the development of a data product end-to-end. Proficiency in common web technologies, approaches, and programming languages such as React, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Experience in API design and development approaches and technologies (REST, Swagger, HATEOAS, gRPC). Degree in Computer Science or a related subject. Highly Desirable Skills: Experience and knowledge of the payments industry (not essential). Experience using Azure cloud environment for DevOps and application architecture development.
