Network Engineer (F5/Checkpoint)

Network Engineer (F5/Checkpoint) £500 per day 12 month contract Glasgow MBNs client, a leading provider of digital customer experience (CX) transformation solutions, As a Senior Network Specialist, you will oversee operational tasks, maintenance, and project work within our client's network. This includes analyzing network performance, resolving issues, and managing F5 and firewall technologies, among other responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Incident Management: Lead and participate in resolving network faults, particularly focusing on specific firewall and load balancing devices. Document root causes for major incidents. Capacity Management: Regularly review network capacity and collaborate with the team to ensure requirements are met throughout the network's lifecycle. Lifecycle Management: Maintain device firmware and software, ensuring supportability, and collaborate on hardware management. Network Configuration: Oversee change management, including installations and upgrades, preferably through automation. Review and approve the technical changes proposed by the team. Project Delivery: Manage the delivery of network-related projects, working closely with project managers and other teams to meet deadlines and implement changes effectively. Monitoring: Ensure continuous monitoring of network devices, with appropriate responses to alerts regarding health, utilization, and lifecycle. Network Design: Work with architects and engineers to design and implement network solutions, improving existing configurations and acting as a technical authority for specific technologies. Essential: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior network engineering role. Hands-on experience with advanced networking and security technologies. Strong knowledge of network security protocols and practices F5 LTM, APM, AFM Virtualised environment (vCMP) Good understanding of iRules In depth of understanding of on how F5 processes traffic flow and troubleshooting Check Point Firewalls (distributed platform) Virtualized environment (VSX)
