Junior/Intermediate KDB Developer Key Responsibilities: • KDB Development: Design, develop, and maintain KDB databases and related applications to support our high-frequency trading infrastructure. • Data Management: Efficiently manage large volumes of real-time and historical market data, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance. • System Integration: Collaborate with front-end and back-end teams to integrate KDB systems with our broader technology stack, including FIX engines and low-latency trading systems. • Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements, optimizing both code and database structures for speed and reliability. • Testing & Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of KDB code, ensuring high levels of system reliability and accuracy. • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes, system designs, and operational procedures. • Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, quants, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Qualifications: • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience: o 1-3 years of experience with KDB/Q development. o Experience in financial services or trading environments is a plus. Technical Skills: o Proficiency in KDB/Q: Solid understanding of KDB database architecture and Q programming. o Programming Languages: Knowledge of Python, or C++ is advantageous. o Data Handling: Strong skills in handling and processing large datasets, including time series data. o Linux/Unix: Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment. o Scripting: Experience with shell scripting and automation. Soft Skills: o Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. o Self-motivated with a passion for learning new technologies.
