Position: Survey Technician Location: London Salary: £30-£35k 4 days in the office and 1 from home 25 days holiday Role Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Survey Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently completing building surveys using the latest technology, such as laser scanners and 360 panoramic cameras, and providing technical support to project teams by producing accurate 2D drawings and 3D models. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic surveyor keen to take the next step in their career and build on existing knowledge and experience. Key Responsibilities Conducting measured building surveys independently, using laser scanning survey equipment and 360 panoramic cameras (and total stations as needed). Carrying out initial site inspections and completing dynamic risk assessments to ensure that all necessary safety measures are in place before starting the survey. Ensuring survey data is collected efficiently and accurately, with a strong focus on maintaining high-quality standards. Communicating effectively with all project stakeholders to ensure that surveys are conducted and managed in a professional manner. Processing survey data, converting it into readable RCP/RCS formats using Leica Software for use by design teams. Collaborating with project teams to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models (using Revit Software) from survey data, ensuring all outputs are accurate and comprehensive. Working closely with design teams, project managers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to understand survey requirements and objectives. Required Skills & Experience Preferably a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a Construction-related field. A minimum of 2 years of measured building survey experience, preferably using laser scanning equipment. Experience with Leica 3D Laser Scanning Equipment and Data Processing Software. Proficiency in Revit software, with experience creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models. Strong attention to detail and the ability to review and interpret technical drawings and data accurately. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team and build strong working relationships. Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize projects, plan workloads efficiently, and meet deadlines. Good written and verbal communication skills. Assertive, self-motivated, and a proactive team player with a "can-do" attitude. Willingness to stay overnight occasionally, as required by survey needs. Commitment to lifelong learning, continuous development, and an appetite for innovation. Preferred Skills & Experience A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card is required to enable site access and demonstrate health & safety competency. If not already held, this will be provided. Proof of Asbestos Awareness training conducted within the last 3 years is also required. If not already held, training will be provided. Experience using CDE platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and Microsoft SharePoint. RICS qualification (or working towards certification) is desirable but not essential.
