Technical Lead

Technical Lead (OOH) My client supplies technology and information to the media industry, working with the world’s largest advertising and media businesses. They operate in London, New York and Paris and have an established record of growing revenue, profitably, whilst both retaining and adding new customers across a strong portfolio of products. They are committed to delivering innovative web applications for their clients and are looking for a talented UI/UX Developer to join their dynamic team. The Role They are seeking an experienced and motivated Tech Lead to join their team. The Tech Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of their OOH (Out of Home) technology platforms. This role requires strong technical skills, including AWS solution architecture, and the ability to lead and mentor a small but growing team of engineers. The ideal candidate will drive innovation and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. This is a hands-on role for an individual who is passionate about designing, building and leading a team to deliver exceptional data-centric solutions. The ‘build’ aspect of the role will include an appreciation of AWS services (supported by their experienced TechOps team) and programming using suitable languages for large-scale, data-centric solutions (e.g. Python, node.js). Database technology experience is a must. The perfect candidate will be able to support teams working on some existing PHP-based web solutions. The role will initially focus on some new solution opportunities, with architecture and technical design being key to the success of those projects. Proof-of-concept work will require some hands-on development. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and maintenance of their OOH technology platforms. Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications. Oversee and participate in the coding, testing, and deployment of applications. Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance platform functionality. Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration. Mentor and guide more junior developers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep our platforms at the forefront of innovation. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a tech lead or senior developer in the OOH advertising technology space, with some experience of solution architecture. Strong proficiency in cloud-friendly programming languages such as Python or node.js; exposure to PHP. Strong database skills. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Familiarity with the advertising technology industry and digital media ecosystems.
