Insight Investment is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Core Data Infrastructure team in Manchester. The role will primarily focus on building our core data infrastructure, covering data integration, data processing and delivery to our data consumers. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our data strategy, leveraging our data assets to the full, elevating our decision-making, streamlining processes, and drive innovation within our organization. You will be part of the long-standing Core Data team using Agile methods to deliver solutions on top of our established data management platform and work to adopt more Azure & .NET technologies into our product estate. You will work closely with the business and be involved in all aspects of the secure system development life cycle (S-SDLC) across multiple business areas within Insight. Role Responsibilities Stand by quality engineering principals, balancing technical debt with delivery goals to help maintain code quality & reduce cost of change Identify opportunities for platform enhancements, new standards, processes, frameworks, architectures Support your colleagues when jointly designing new best in class application features and platform enhancements Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement Align technical design with internal risk, information, data, and security policies Experience Required Advanced T-SQL skills Knowledge of data pipeline tools for ETL/ELT, preferably with the MarkitEDM data management platform Hands on experience working on data flow orchestration tools, preferably Control-M C# / .NET Framework Experience in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Artifactory) Azure SQL, AKS, Service Bus, Application Insights Provide third level production support where and when required for business continuity Ability to collaborate with end users, stakeholders, and team members Demonstrate initiative and independence to solve problems Stand by software engineering principles around security, quality, and doing things the right way.
