Azure Data Architect

The Opportunity Our client is a fintech who have recently had a number of parities invest to grow their organisation 10 fold Starting as a small organisation based in South Manchester they have big plans to expand rapidly The What Our client is looking for a budding Cloud Data Architect - with specific strengths in Azure - to join the organisation - a Senior or current Data engineer who has gained experience impacting their businesses data architecture and keen to make this as a prevalent part of their role. It is likely that you will have come from a SQL DBA or Database Engineer background with strong experience working within a Microsoft / Azure house. Expereince across Azure migration - designing solutions that shift traditional SQL Database into Data Laakes is critical thought leadership on the future development of the data architecture is also critical Some of the challenges being faced: • Cloud migration from on-prem to Microsoft Azure • While the current data set isn't huge internally - taking into account the data injested from a variety of enterprise third parties a need to future proof for huge data expansion is needed • Overseeing the design and implementation of data management frameworks, including data architecture, data modelling, data integration, and data storage. • Continuing to develop the data automation pipeline and suite (DevOps / DataOps slant). • Data protection and security becoming critical with the expansion. • Someone who is in tune with the newer trends within data and can influence the existing team on new ways of working. • The current state is predominantly SQL support / Manual releases - the ambition is to automating SQL Releases internally and via enterprise 3rd parties. The Why? (TOP 3 as we could put far more in there) Great opportunity to be able to significantly impact a business - pretty much greenfield. Gaining experience working within FS from a data perspective. To be able to start defining & transition your role towards as Technical / Solutions Architect type role with a specialism on the data side.
