Director of Cloud Engineering - Banking Technology Hybrid London Eames consulting are delighted to be working with an established bank that are on the lookout for an experienced and talented Director of Cloud Engineering to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, proven leadership abilities, and a passion for driving technical excellence in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of cloud engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their day-to-day activities. Developing cloud strategy, aligning it with business goals and industry best practices. Architect, design, and implement cloud solutions that are scalable, resilient, and cost-effective. Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration of cloud services with existing systems. Drive automation and efficiency through the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices. Establish and enforce cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the bank's operations and making recommendations for adoption. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. years of experience in cloud engineering, with [8] years in a leadership role. Extensive experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including compute, storage, networking, and security. Proficiency in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef). Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience working in the banking or financial services industry is preferred.
