Job Title: Field Line Manager - Fire and Security Location: Oxford / Bristol Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Job Overview: Our client are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Line Manager to lead and manage a team of fire and security technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring that all installations, maintenance, and repair work are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Field Line Manager will play a crucial role in driving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and supporting the growth and development of the field team. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fire and security technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback. Conduct regular team meetings, briefings, and training sessions to ensure alignment with company objectives and industry standards. Monitor and manage the workload distribution among technicians, ensuring optimal use of resources. Field Operations: Oversee the scheduling, execution, and completion of installation, maintenance, and repair work for fire alarms, security systems, CCTV, and access control systems. Ensure that all fieldwork is performed in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, BS EN). Perform regular site visits to inspect work quality, safety practices, and customer satisfaction. Health & Safety: Promote a strong safety culture within the team, ensuring that all technicians adhere to safety policies and procedures. Conduct risk assessments, ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and enforce safe working practices. Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the field, addressing concerns, answering queries, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve any customer issues promptly and professionally. Operational Efficiency: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational targets are met or exceeded. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality. Manage inventory and equipment, ensuring that all tools and materials are available and in good working condition. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all work complies with relevant fire and security industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Prepare and submit regular reports on team performance, project status, and any issues or incidents. Maintain accurate records of all field activities, including job completion reports, safety audits, and customer feedback. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the fire and security industry. Strong technical knowledge of fire alarms, security systems, CCTV, and access control systems. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Comprehensive understanding of industry standards, regulations, and health and safety practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service. Proficiency in using field service management software and other relevant IT tools. Education and Certifications: A relevant technical qualification in fire and security systems (e.g., FIA, BAFE, NSI). Health and Safety certification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) is preferred. Valid driver’s license is required.
