Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer Permanent London Hybrid (4 days onsite) Salary: Up to £120k 20% Bonus (Pension) My leading Financial Services client is looking for a skilled Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join their London-based dynamic team. This is a collaborative environment where you can contribute to the Global Technology Infrastructure team that is responsible for every aspect of the firm's hybrid platform. You will play a crucial role in EUC/Office environments to Trading and Core service Co-Location Data Centres, as well as Public Cloud, delivering top-tier technology services. Key Skills and Responsibilities: Design, engineering, and support of multi-tenant private and public cloud initiatives. Delivering services to our core business sectors globally, including Trading, middle and back office, and Technology. Comprehensive understanding and experience across various platforms, including Windows, Virtualisation, GenAI, and their associated technologies, delivered via On-Premise, Hosted and Public Cloud platforms. Proficiency in system integration, support, and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on standardisation and repeatability through high levels of automation and orchestration. Exceptional service levels to stakeholders, comprehend key business processes, and understanding how solutions contribute and enhance expanding businesses Planning, implementing, and supporting new, diverse, and current technology initiatives, working independently or as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and organisational skills. Must-Have: 5 years industry experience. (within a Financial institution desirable) Demonstrable BAU, advanced engineering and technology service delivery in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment. Solid platform engineering and support experience using Microsoft server technology portfolio, including On-premise bare metal hardware deployments (preferably HPE), Advanced virtualisation design, architecture and support with VMWare, Microsoft, and containerisation with Kubernetes. Enterprise integration experience with security, high availability, networking, load balancing aspects to deliver applications and infrastructure. Ability to translate requirements through to providing and supporting solutions and environments for both proprietary and commercial software Platform engineering and support experience with public cloud platforms, preferably with a major Hyperscaler like Microsoft Azure or AWS. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code methodologies with On-Prem and Cloud IaaS, achieved through automation and orchestration of cross-platform services using tools such as Source Control, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform and ServiceNow. Scripting or programming skills in languages such as PowerShell, Python and familiarity with APIs and data structures in JSON/YAML or similar. Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies on-premise using Nvidia GPU or via Public Cloud, OpenAI, AWS preferred.
