Like many other well-known organizations, we face cyber attacks of varying degrees on a regular basis. In mid-December, we detected a highly sophisticated and targeted attack on our corporate infrastructure originating from China that resulted in the theft of intellectual property from Google. However, it soon became clear that what at first appeared to be solely a security incident–albeit a significant one–was something quite different.

This is a big deal.

Imo, Google thinks that the attack came from or was organized by the Chinese gov’t.

Next, Google will move out of China. No profit there anyways.

I doubt they’ll move out of China, not if they any choice in the matter anyway. Woudlnt’ surprise me if the US government had a hand in this somewhere plus at the end of the day, Page and Bryn are just aging hippies and that motivates a lot of what Google does. They’re actually the good guys.
