Insightful thread I must say, I am here cause I am ready to learn and conquer my dreams. Thank you for the motivation!
I left corporate America to pursue being my own boss mainly b/c of 3 things:
-
wanting to learn more and faster than ever.
-
to get closer to my brother (we work on the same project)
-
to find what my dream was
-
I found I was doing very little learning working a 9-5 and what I was learning after work was not fast enough. Now I’ve started learning both practical and philosophical things that I’m sure will benefit me a lot more in the long run.

My brother has been a programmer and internet marketer since he was 18. I was always destined for corporate America. We’ve always been on different paths and we were never on the same page. Working together has made the best use of our complementary skills and brought us closer personally. We spend 24/hrs/day together so we’re forced to work through differences. It’s been great.

I can’t say what I’m doing now is my dream in the sense that it’s what I want to be doing in 50 years. I’m more motivated by what I’m learning and working with my brother. But I’m learning a lot about what does make me excited and passionate - and one day, I’ll go pursue something tangible.
