I’m not from the UK and have never been there, so I can’t say
I like to eat delicious food too, who doesn’t?
Sorry once again, I need all I can eat so I’m afraid I won’t be sharing it with you or anyone else.
Most food from the UK is bland. I understand that curry houses are big. Most don’t open until after the bars have closed. People sit around a table and waitstaff will bring a piece of flatbread that’s as big as the table and a bowl of curry for dipping.
Then, again, that was in 1998… it may have changed, since.
Personally, I love a cooked Irish breakfast. Rashers, toast, black pudding, white pudding, eggs, hashed browns, and a tomato slice. That will keep you going all day long!
Try the ribs , they are fantastic! Yummy !
Three that I miss are, roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, roast lamb and mint sauce, roast pork and crackling.
Best one is the Yorkshire pudding and gravy served before the main meal.
As long as it isn’t’ “blood” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boudin I might get tempted to eat it. Otherwise I confess my upbrinigng has resricted my culinary choices No mater how hungry I may be.
The breakfast sausage equivalent is Black Pudding, favoured in the northern parts of England. Definitely an acquired taste same as haggis.
Please share it my friend, i won’t eat your food…Just joking.
I like your reply.
Thank you Mittineague!
And thanks everyone who is replying.
i prefer kouskous from north Africa
i search for that these is what i see Chinese stir-fry has now replaced chicken tikka masala as Britain’s favourite dish, a new survey revealed today. The simplistic Cantonese dish, typically full of fresh vegetables and noodles, is now the most frequently cooked meal in the UK…
Too bad we’re talking favourite UK dish here. Unless you’re from the UK and you prefer kouskous?
Who would’ve guessed. I thought fish 'n chips was the UK favourite
I’ve just realized that all the time that I lived in UK I’ve never tried the typical English meals. Well, exception made of Debenhams’ brunch. Is that typical? Don’t know. But it was good
I don’t know either - I’ve never sampled one. But I was always under the impression that “brunch” was an American invention. (I could be wrong, of course. :))
Being American I never thought of that. I know it’s a mashup of breakfast lunch - late breakfast /early lunch - but don’t know where it originated.
Curry? Masala? These are traditionally Indian are they not?
I love both black pudding AND haggis. First time I ever had haggis was a restaurant in Edinburgh just a stones throw away from the castle - The Filling Station. They had a haggis appetizer: two tennis ball sized scoops of haggis, breaded and deep-fried, then drizzled with a drambuie sauce. Off the hook.
Really i’m not from Uk but i prefer maghribian dish like koukous of Algeria or Mhajeb of morocco
No-ones mentioned Marmite yet - not to be confused with that feeble imposter “Vegemite”
+1
Brunch is indeed an American invention. Debenhams brunch is more like what we think of an English breakfast, I think: eggs, beans, bacon, tea, orange juice and sausages and I don’t know if there’s anything else
Well there are lots of food which UK people like but according to my experience " They would love to eat Indian Food and Indian Food is their favorite Food.
