Web Design Business & Outsourcing Model

Hello guys.

I am looking for some advise to improve my current business model to grow past the 1 man band stage.

Ok I have been in business now a couple of years.
We have an OK office in an OK location.
Our branding is pretty good, our proposal documents are now very professional. Our brochures and website are also in line. We have a good Medium/Large sized company/agency look- even though we are not.
I started out doing all the work myself but now outsource most of the work due to time. I still however have NO TIME to do anything.

Technical Project Management
I currently use Basecamp to manage my projects. A big time consuming aspect of the job is communicating what needs to be done to freelancers on the web via basecamp which can take up a lot of time. It also can take longer than if i had someone here doing the project due to language barriers sometimes. - Is there a way around this apart from getting someone in house to do the work which i cannot afford?

I need someone to basically take over my role as i suppose Technical project manager. I am the guy who makes sure everything gets done.

is there any way around this apart from Hiring in house? Still funds are scarce so costs always need to be kept at a minimum

I wonder if you could hire someone who speaks their language and can act as liaison.

Usually people who outsource on a large basis have an overseas person who manages the staff there.

You are the project manager then. You need to hire programmers, web designers and graphic designers.

Sagewing has some good articles here on how to hire contractors. They have worked great for me.

Kind Regards,

Jochen

Try to outsource to company instead of free-lancer and you typically get a project manager.
However since you alone communicate with clients you still need to dedicate significant amount of your time to be a liason between your clients and technical team, even if many issues may be handled by project managers at outsourcer’s side
I think that if you business grows you will need to find in-house project manager
