My site is <snip/> and I have been trying to SEO for the keywords ‘would you rather’ and ‘would you rather questions’. I have been getting many backlinks from different places (social media, articles, directories, blog commenting etc. ) and have some quite good ones.
However, I am not moving up at all and my competitors who have much less backlinks are moving up.
It must have something to do with my on page SEO right? Any advice would be appreciated!!!
Make research on your keywords and put them in meta tags properly, make search engine friendly link structure of your site and add some unique content to your site. If possible then setup a blog with your site and make posting regularly. It will help!
When it comes to backlinking, quality is far more important than quantity of backlinks. If your competitor have less but authority links, he can easily outrank your website.
This is why competition analysis is so very important. track the sources from where your competitor has got backlinks to beat him, you may use any backlinks analysis tool like ‘Keyword Country’ for this.
Are your links really of good quality? If they’re all from social media sites and blogs then, regardless of their PR (as PR doesn’t matter), I’m willing to bet that they’re not as great as you’d think.
For getting quality backlinks one has to provide useful information on high PR site and site which has quality information. But quality backlinks and high PR not affect the SERP. And it is not so that site with high PR will show on top and all. But in SERP it will show such pages which has exact or relevant information according to query.
