Thinking of buying slightly different site from closing down shop for link juice

Hi,

I am involved in a recently setup cycle store which may be taking over the premises of a snowboard shop which also sold a few cycles. We are considering buying their website address purely to redirect to ours.

Ours is a PR 0 and theirs a PR 3, however most of the links pointing to their site has anchor text andkeywords relating to snowboards. Is it worth redirecting all of the traffic from theirs to ours?

If their business was different from yours and you will be effectively taking their website down and just keeping the URL for your own site, there is precious little point in buying their website. For that kind of change, search engines will almost certainly treat it as a new site, so you would lose any history and rankings they had and be starting from scratch.
