Hello here,
I am a pretty expert Internet Business entrepreneur and web programmer and was thinking to open a new website dedicated to Internet business entrepreneurs, mostly beginners by telling them how to open a website, manage it, etc. by giving them basic tools, video tutorials, articles, etc. I’d like also to target more expert users such as people with an already established website but that are looking into new insights or tools for their business.
I am struggling to choose the best domain name for such a new website, I got the following two interesting domains:
I am aware that the first one sounds like targeting a wider audience, which could be the perfect one for my site concept, but at the same time the second one looks like the perfect fit for beginners. I am having an hard time to decide which domain to start working on first, or just discard one of the two and focus on one only.
I was also thinking to start preparing the material for beginners, launch the beginners website, and then extend the content to more expert users by opening the second, wider website.
Any thoughts are very welcome, I think may be interesting do discuss this first, important basic decisions when setting-up a new venture on this very specialized, web entrepreneurs forum.
Thank you for your reply. Both the domain are already in my hands of course.
About to use shorter names because otherwise they are difficult to remember, I don’t agree completely with that. Those two domain names contain keywords that can help on SEO marketing and contain the explicit purpose of the sites. If I use an invented name such as “yahoo”, I think would be worse (more difficult to remember) unless I establish a strong branding campaign or my site becomes so much popular to be remembered anyway by anybody. Please, let me know if I am mistaken.
Could you please give me examples of better to remember, shorter names? Do you suggest to “invent” a shorter name such as “Yahoo” or “Google”?
Both are great, self explainable domain names. I’d reccomend finding a shorter domain to redirect to the main one for the sole reason of making it easier for your customers/visitors. Example:
I might rethink some of my actual business offerings and services as well. Internet marketing, web design, SEO tactics, etc, blogs and sites are a dime a dozen anymore. I hope your are a superior SEO and marketer, otherwise it will be lost in the mix.
Personally I don’t think titles and domains are of big importance anymore. I’d say 20%.
More important is quality articles, getting people to subscribe to your feed and actually loving what you write. So don’t concentrate to much on title. Get the site up and running fast, the hardest part and a time consuming is content and backlinks.
Thank you for your reply. Both the domain are already in my hands of course.

Thank you again.
I suppose NOT domain names have made those sites so popular BUT web sites did.
Concentrate on your web site only
Hi i have a new website registered yesterday and thinking about how big projects i should develop among it, can i handle it. When i saw your post here i realized actually our target audience is almost the same. i would like to share my ideas here with you.
You would like to grow your business around how to create a website, i want to make it on how to drive traffic to a website. PPC advertisement between webmasters and clients. my problem is not the domain name but how to create an income since adwords prohibits to drive readers to click the links. or could i handle a system like adwords, adtech…
i didn’t request any help from anyone, just i shared my opinion and situation. So i’m an exception. because i gave my opinion in my first post:) i told that i found it’s better to go on a website of webmasters-advertisers meeting point. What i loose? nothing. i have some other projects but i won’t tell here:)
These ideas are not the new inventions. There are already a lot of website running webmaster - advertiser businesses. The important thing is how you run this business it’s not that much important how you start or where you start. But we’re sharing our ideas here in order to make optimisations not making inventions. The succes is behind this. So i don’t agree with you if somebody is sharing his opinion about what is the most suitable way to build a project on any domain, he will not loose anything. And there are already a lot of people sharing their ideas and helping each other that is why that kind of forums are used for.
