Will Smart Phones replace PC’s ?
People pretty much stopped buying new PCs once they had a Core 2 Duo or faster. It isn’t that no one is using PCs anymore, it’s that no one is buying a new one because the old one is still plenty fast.

Smart phones (and not so smart phones, but feature phones) are removing potential PC markets in developing countries.
Developed countries tend to have PCs as still dominant. However in the developing world where wired electricity is inconsistent and everyone already has some kind of mobile phone anyway, Opera has become one of the world’s most popular mobile browsers and Nokia one of the most popular brands. So it’s more like, the existing market might only stagnate, but there will not be huge new opportunities in places like India and Indonesia where people are getting on the web but not necessarily buying computers.
i’ll tell you when smart phones will replace my pc – when they come with a keyboard as big as the one i’m using now, not some postage stamp size piece of crap that you have to use a stylus to type into (and no, i am ~never~ going to type with my thumbs)
also, do smart phones yet have a feature that allows me to record straight off my television cable signal like my windows media pc has done for the last few years?

I didn’t either until I inherited one from my mother-in-law, which I barely know how to do more than make and send calls. Which is all a phone should do… like this one: http://www.johnsphones.com/
However, I am a statistical outlier. Everyone else in the universe and their grandmas have mobile phones. People’s dogs have mobile phones.
Then someone writes a weird signal that turns all its listeners into bloodthirsty zombies. The three people who don’t actually have or use mobiles will have to band together to scavenge for food and fight off the beasts until ultimately they turn on each other like in every Romero film and end up dead anyway.
Phones. They’ll be the death of us.

It sounds like a misnomer. PC is quite different form cell phones. So cant take each others place.
