Hello all,
Not quite my first site design but I have been out of the loop for some time now so I think its best to post in here.
I have the graphical layout of a site design all set in Photoshop but I’m now trying to slice it up for the web. My biggest issue is that when outputting the sliced site I basically lose my layers and get a fixed width site.
Essentially, my layered image is now flattened. What I’d like to do is have the background sit as background images in a table so that I can nest other images accordingly around text that it sits inside the table.
I’ve been reading about slicing and fixed width vs elastic sites but I can’t seem to mesh the two together.
I’ve attached an image of the site and would greatly appreciate if you guys could point me in the right direction on how to handle this problem. Also, rather than have a larged sized pink background image of all the same color, how can I work with slices to how it choose only a pixel and repeat itself in the cell?
Ultimately I need a quick fix for this site and would also like to find resources for learning more moving forward.
Thanks in advance for your help. Looking forward to getting back into designing.
