Sending sms to self from users phone

Hi all,
I am trying hard to create a mobile website or blog that users can send an sms comment or contact form from.
Does anyone know how have sms open on users phone with my phone no already there? using sms or smsto seems to work on some phones but not others.

As far as I know that is pretty much all you can do from a mobi site. It will have to come down to if the device supports it or not.
