I’d like to make a review website. So there will be a form, maybe some dropdown boxes or radio buttons to fill in a number rating, this kind of thing. Then when that info gets submitted it should post to a database and present itself on the website.
Could someone give me some hints as to how to accomplish this? It will be on a wordpress site. Is there a plugin or script I can use for the form, and if so, how do you get the site to present the submitted info where you want it?
Any hints as to how to go about doing this would be greatly appreciated!
Well, this is probably the type of research you should be doing, because Wordpress has a very extensive plugin database (that can be found here - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins).
But something like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-star-rating/ or http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mombly-review-rating/ may suit your needs?
What exactly would the form be used for?
Thanks! I had already checked out the WP plugins database but I only found ones that offer a rating system and I need to allow my users to complete text fields so they can write detailed reviews for products. Think of reviews on amazon, that kind of thing.
I’m not sure if I saw that second one you posted so I’m going to check that out and see if it can accept writeups (text field submissions.)
check out this post from Soh Tanaka, he explains what plugins he used for his DesignBombs site.
Basically, you’ll use TDO mini forms for user submitted forms.
Another option is Gravity forms, but it’s not free
