Reseller Host allowing reselling

I’m looking for a reseller that offers multiple domain creation from the resellers customers. Such as:

Host>
Reseller> I would be here
Client>
Sub-Client>
Users

The main issue I am having is my clients wanting to resell their space to use for their clients. They are using the addon domain feature in Cpanel. Problem is when the sites get indexed by Google they read:

http://myclientsdomain.com/addondomain(their clients domain).com

instead of:

http://www.addondomain.com

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Do the search for the master reseller solution
As far as I have head Hostgator can offer that at the moment

Thank you, this does help. Anyone have any recommendations?

You are welcome
Search using google
I believe a lot of web hosting companies offer that right now

I know GoDaddy also offers this service, but I believe HostGator would be the best and easiest solution to start with.

I’ve looked at Hostgator, but I’m not sure they offer the master reseller? From what I’ve seen on their site it is just a basic reseller. Please correct me if I’m wrong and show me the link. :eye:

True, they don’t offer master reseller accounts, and I doubt they’ll offer such anytime soon, especially now that their VPS service had been launched.

Do you know how does a VPS account compares to a Master Reseller account?

You can sell reseller accounts with a VPS, because it acts as a typical server.

Master reseller is an addon to the typical cPanel suite, that adds the ability to sell reseller accounts.

Personally, I would not use a small low entry VPS as a replacement for a reseller account, unless the hosted sites are small and have little traffic (and thus a small memory print). Also, personally, I would not use master reseller accounts. It is very hard to find a provider with a history of providing them, coupled with a reputation for stability.

Problem is when the sites get indexed by Google they read:

http://myclientsdomain.com/addondomain(their clients domain).com

instead of:

http://www.addondomain.com

That looks like an addon setup issue, or a main domain htaccess that interferes with proper addon functioning.

It can be correctly quite easily by adding a .htaccess in the addon domain’s folder, containing code like

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^addondomain\\.com [NC]
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.addondomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

This is very interesting and helpful information. Thank you!

One issue I have is having some of my clients are wanting to setup their own clients and therefore this is why I was considering the Master Reseller as suggested. I don’t have a “huge” amount of clients that would support a dedicated server as of yet. Are there any options that someone could suggest that I could:

  1. Have clients set up clients themselves
  2. Good with SEO
  3. Domains that work well with Expression Engine Multi-Site Manager
  4. around $20-$30/month for hosting

 You can view the multi site manager info here

Just trying to understand your list
1 - yes they could with master reseller
2 - do not understand if that is question for the web hosting account
4- I deem you are allowed and can install the prices you think are right

1- Is this possible with Virtual Servers? Whats the best hosting option to use?
2- I could have phrased this better  . Some host only allow addon domains as their “reseller” type hosting. Which doesn’t work well with SEO when you have various sites that don’t relate well to each other. I was just wanting to know if any of these resellers or “other” host made it possible to have separate domains.
4- Actually I was referring to the actual cost of the hosting plan itself. Although I know those can fluctuate with server and host quality.

I get your point. Do some search for so called SEO hosting as that is what you need

Nice try, but that is just GoDaddy with a new set of threads. not working for me. For the moment I am planning to stick with my current host.

Why is the linux platform much preferred for reseller hosting? Why not windows reseller hosting?

Highly probable because of the price difference for the same services. Windows hosting used to be much more expensive then linux hosting
