Welcome! It took me about 8 Years of experience as a web master, and about 2 years of industry experience before I started seeing 6 Figures a month.
There are so many challenges in the business. Everything from Networks using deceptive sales tactics, policies to ensure they cover themselves and leave you hanging, networks which don’t pay, networks which run malware, spyware, redirects, pops, advertisers who are angry, google banning you for sneezing. Every where you look you are going to face a challenge. The best advice I can give you, is learn the terminology. For example when networks promote “Unlimited Budget to buy traffic” That means they are paying you on a revshare about 99% of the time. Why? Because why would they pay you the rates you are looking for with an unlimited budget? Maybe its unlimited cause they are looking pay you close to, if not, nothing.
The motivation is 2 things. Client feedback, and Dreams of a better life.
Struggle now? Accounts which don’t ask questions because they are so used to other networks not providing even close to decent support. The company I work for provided 24/7 Support but so many people take it for granted, and usually it causes more problems as a result of someone just not asking a question.
The business comes with a lot of ups, and a lot of downs. If you can survive the downs, you will enjoy the ups.
Go out and twist as much as you can. Get ideas first that you think would work than mix them. Like the OP said some “friends” will share but not all the stuff shared will work, that’s why you need to know what to filter and when. Most of the info on the market are tested, milked already!
The hardest part was getting over the idea of trying to manipulate Google and start working more on how to work with them.
It also took a while to learn who offered good advice and who was not keeping up with the times. My current favorite websites for internet marketing news are moz.com and socialmediaexaminer.com.
I don’t have knowledge about other than internet marketing and discussing for that only am here…
but internet marketing are the very big exp-loser in near future and to know it people spends lots of time… still not perfect… so to get success only do one thing keep asking people questions on digital marketing and get learn … we are done same thing and get lots of good knowledge about SEO, PPC , Affiliate and many more. and still going on…
