I’m setting up my first facebook account for a website; to verify that I own the website, facebook want me to place a meta tag in the homepage header; where should I put it?
In the header.php of astra theme hasn’t worked
Also won’t header.php be overwritten when WP upgrades the theme? Thanks for any help!
That’s what they normally say to do. What does “hasn’t worked” mean?
Was there an option to add a TXT record to your domain settings? That’s often a better option.
Thanks for replying. When I said it didn’t work, I meant that facebook said the ownership was still unverified. I had thought I needed to wait for a few hours for facebook to note the tag. Whereas today I noticed the facebook business dashboard has a verify button at the bottom - I clicked that (after re-adding the tag to the header) & it now says “Verified”. I hope that helps someone in future.
