What would you say your budget is? The other thing to consider when looking to do web hosting is how much space do you need, are you going to need any backups, and how much do you value customer service.
These day’s there are many hosts out there that claim to be the best. The problem with that is you lose something. Most of the time with cheaper hosting you lose the customer service.
You can also consider checking Wordpress recommended WebHosts listed at http://wordpress.org/hosting.
I’ve been happy with hostgator. Not too expensive and a good user to user forum.
I also use and am happy with 0fees.net, a free host that you can upgrade to paid if your site grows too big.
Since you are going to use wordpress, have you considered free hosting at wordpress.com?
Free and cheap are 2 diffrent kind of services.
I do not know what is cheap for you. It is up only to you decide. Perhaps you have $15 per month as cheap web hosting solution… Can you please give more info?
It is better to go for paid hosting than free hosting. Free hosting may mess up the website and account.

I believe that would be not a problem to find web hosting for $3-5 per month. Remember: the cheaper does not mean the better.
You may also check wordpress list of suggested web hosts.
There are hosts that I know of that would run in the $3-$5 a month rates. These would be good for beginners like you. However, you should also consider others when you expand your site.
Paid hosting gives more batter results than free ones.
I would like to suggest you go for paid hosting than free hosting. We don’t know is which free hosting company is reliable or good. So go for paid hosting. Try Godaddy. Godaddy is the best hosting company.
I see recommending a host is against SitePoint rules. What you can do the best is., Go and search in some hosting search engines. servergrabber.com or webhostsearch.com
You can find a lot of free web hosts by searching google but no matter what you do, its bound to cause you some headaches because it is free and the host company is not liable to give you better service unless you avail their paid web hosting.
I prefer the free one other than the paid,.If you do need a better one you can move your site to a paid one.But free one does not mean the inferior one.
The OP should have really considered doing some research shopping first. He could have easily bought a shared hosting plan that included a free domain on the host for $3-$5 a month.

I would agree with a lot of the post’s you should not need a hosting plan over $5.00 per month. I would even suggest below $4 because being that you are just starting off you can always upgrade later.

any shared host should be able to help you =)
Its always better to select quality hosting else you will face many problems in future like performance,support etc. While selecting any new host first check review as well as forums run by hosting provider and check if forum is active or not.
