MY IT dept cant explain this one :-(

Its definately one of those days :frowning:

For the last 18MONTHs ive been happlily updating a website using dreamweaver hosted by fast hosts. Today however I logged in and the root folder got disconnected. No problem I thought, strange but no problem. I set ot up to the root folder again but just cant upload files

Here are some screen grabs of the prob:

Ive contacted my IT dept but they just dont understand. Is anyone able to give ma any idea of why I’m getting the error messages detailed in the screen grabs.

Any insights welcome

What does the log actually say? Should be some interesting details in there.

Maybe it worth to edit your files on your PC and then upload them to theserver using third party FTP like filezilla?

I too use Dreamweaver…I also use Filezilla when need be…did you try making a new site in dreamweaver and seeing if it reindexing and creating that new set up takes care of the problem? Don’t change the other site setup, just make a new one with the same connections and directories and see if it helps is what I would try.

Yes thank you that worked, thank you so much

Really glad that help…any time

Thank you, yes filezilla has come to the rescue, but still mystified why dreamwaever has imploded :frowning:

off topic: It does my head in that something can work eons then nose dives. Alas the vagries of the cyber world, ellusive and mystical & frequently blood frustrating

Because that’s what it does

I’ve got a client who insists on using DW’s FTP and it bums out on him regularly in a similar manner, and when it does he’s on the phone to me asking for help. Despite many attempts at convincing him that using a normal FTP app would be easier he’s still holding out.
