i’m working on a site for an electrical contractor in northern New Jersey. i’ve seen a lot of other sites where they list the towns that the contractor works in, in the footer of the website. i’m considering listing all the towns in northern NJ in the footer.
is this seo “trick” good or bad? is google wise to it? or do they like it?
Hi,
I don’t know about listing all locations in footer will be good or not. In my point of view you should make a page named Contact Us and mention all locations and your particular address so that people can reach to you from that address.

I don’t know as it would help the over-all SEO. But it should help with the targeted market. What matters more hits from those out-of-range that will only leave?
If you are optimizing your site for locally if mean you like to rank your targeted keyword in local search, and your domain is having an extension of .com or .org (i.e non localized domain) then you need to have your business address in each page of your site. That helps search engine to identify that you belongs to that territory and including it into footer is one of the best way.
So keep going if you don’t have any other option to include in each page.
