This banner is 970 wide by 167 pixels high.
Do you think this banner or too high for the webpage?
Thanks
Please check banner
No, I for one do not believe it is. If you’d not asked, I’d never had thought it wrong.
it looks good Another Designer, IMO I think its fine position wise from the top  the only thing that would worry me is those guys who are on 800 x 600 resolution, they’ll have to scroll left n right to view the entire banner/page
The 1% of users still on 800x600 (WC3 stats) can just live with it, you can’t satisfy everybody and I never design for a minority if it’s going to significantly affect the design for the majority…
I think the banner is an ok size.
I dont want to go OT really but isn’t this data purely based on their own collation of stats relating to their own website visitors?
W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. This fact indicates that the figures below might not be 100% realistic. The average user might have display screens with a lower resolution.
Anyway, our data, collected from W3Schools’ log-files over almost ten years, clearly shows the long and medium-term trends.
IMO, most ppl heading to that website would be designers or ppl who wanna learn, so they’re going to be wise enough to have a high resolution anyways, the average joe/jane is still out there, perhaps its a personal preference but I always think of the 800x600 people when im building a site or generating some graphics!
The banner is nice and I like it but I guess I always expect the unexpected when it comes to web design!
Another Designer - you might also find this thread interesting with regard to website layouts/widths, food for thought

I’m not disputing the content contained in that link as I have not seen their log files but the link itself says W3C Stats which is incorrect. That site has nothing to do with W3C it is W3 Schools a completely independent website built by 2 guys a number of years ago.
