Just been recently thinking is there much potential in building an adult website. There are so many porn websites out there, that it is difficult.
I was just wondering how do people make there money in porn sites, i know a lot of websites have subscription but i want to provide free media clips and images and possibly get people in that way then add a subscription. Is there any affiliates that porn sites work?
How would i also go out about getting much traffic into the website, is there easy methods that can be used?
There is so much room to profit in the porn industry that they actually all help each other out and grow. If you’re willing to do to the hard work there is a lot of money to be made in porn. But it is a lot of hardwork and the rules you have to go by are very strict. There is a lot of regulation and paperwork involved.
I have just thought of the idea over night for a porn site which offers something different. Is there like some laws i have to go through to start the website?
You can go the simple route, and just sign up for reseller programs and place sample content on domains.
A bit more involved would be rotating content purchased through suppliers, and profit sharing through sign up pages in the content.
The most money can be made, honestly, if you produce your own content. This is very costly upfront though, and there’s a huge margin for error if you don’t capture your niche correctly.
The adult forum mentioned above will be a good starting point for you.
Especially for US there are lot of legal implication for an adult site, You must keep over age proof and identity of all your model as you can be asked any time to produce the proof within 48 hours to concerned authority { U.S.C. Title 18, Section 2257}
It’s better to start off simple, to give you time to learn the business. It’s so different than anything else online. Start by signing up with content provider sites, use their free content to make your own mini sites and submit them to all the links sites. It’s a time consuming business, but you sure will make money if you put forth the effort. I stopped doing it, because it ate up so much time and I was in the middle of other sites.
Once you learn the business, then you can step up into subscriptions, pay sites and then doing your own contnet.
cozyfrog is a good place to learn. Do a search there for “$2000 a month”. It’s a good post with a tut on how to make $2000 a month in 6 months with some hard work. Sorry, can’t post the link.
I also got out of it because I needed to keep all the records of proof of age for all my mini sites. Some of my content providers would not release the records for privacy reasons, so I had to drop some of my good providers.
Networking is also alot of help, while people tend to help each other out, getting to know a big site owner will help drive traffic if you strike a deal.
Are you talking about morals here? Granted some people see it as inmoral and down right evil, but it’s a business and a $57 billion industry. A majority of that is online. In my opinion, if it’s legal and is a huge market, it’s fair game, it’s business. Why not cash in on the thousands that are already doing it.
I don’t want to get in a heated discussion about morals of the industry, I’ve seen those threads already on this forum. If the poster asked if there is money in porn, then he has already looked at his morals and is fine with it.

I have been thinking of using NetVerifier on my sites. Does anyone know how this works? I signed up as a reseller, but I do not understand it… How do I know when someone has signed up or not with netverifier so I can give them access to the galler?
