Is learning Ruby at first will make learn PHP easier?

HELLO.

I have two thing want to learn PHP and Ruby (+ Ruby on Rails). But I am not sure which one should I start with? Which one will make learning the other easier? Which one I can learn programming and OOP in a better way?

I tend to consider Ruby as if someone looked at PHP and thought “It would be better if it was done like this”.

While PHP is a little older (and has amazing documentation), Ruby is cooler. Go for Ruby :slight_smile:

Rogem, PHP and Ruby are pretty much the same age, both came out in 1995.
However, unlike Ruby, PHP was not a language just a series of scripts for Perl.

Also “because its cooler” is a lame reason.
