Is anyone making money as an affiliate?

I’m just curious if anyone is making a successful income as an online affiliate.
I would think any type of website can corner the target audience of any market. Joecartoon.com to beatlesnews.com are all affiliates.
So I guess I can start any type of website and as long as I bring traffic there is a chance I can make some revenue through becoming an affiliate.
Any success stories about being an affiliate?
Any examples of mega affiliate websites?

You mean a site that consists of only affiliate advertising?

I have a site that provides free tutorials and answers, and have made a few hundred on affiliate ads. Interestingly, $200 of it was from my competitor’s affiliate ad.
