How well has your chamber of commerce worked for you?

I am considering placing my company as a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Has this worked well for you in the past? Why or why not? What was the cost to you?

I was part of a chamber for the last couple of years but have not renewed this year.

For me it was a decision about ROI. Most of the member benefits were geared towards large businesses, golf memb, employee HR, car pools etc. None of which I needed.

The networking events were OK but they tended to be the same ones every month and the same sales people who attended them.

I find other local networking companies work better and I get a wider audience to work with.

Hope this helps.

My company is part of the chamber, and if you’re willing to stick with it, it can yield a decent return for you. You really have to be up for networking and getting out there.

Many businesses in the chamber: Don’t have websites and don’t think they need them or 2. have terrible websites and are happy with them. You definitely have to be more strategic with local people, but it can do really well for you if you stick with it.

I’d also suggest (if you’re not doing it already) doing a little local marketing & maybe offering a landing page focused on your specific area. That can always help keep them engaged.

Not well, apparently - ha!
