Is there an industry average when it comes to paying out finder's fees? Is 10% too low or about right?
I am not aware of an industry average - but when I bring parties together for business and charge a finder's fee - it is 10 percent of the total deal with a $500 minimum.
But what is a rough dollar amount of business you bring to the table? You say you charge a $500 minimum. Does this mean the sales amounts are around $3,000 or more?
I have a $500 minimum for those smaller deals where folks ask for a little footwork (research) and an introduction to a company for some business. For others - yes the deals are in excess of $7500 usually.
