I’m not quite sure what you are asking?
Which first class?
.sign was already in your code.
I added:
<span class="highlight">מסכה love</span>
If you meant the highlight class then you could remove the class and target it via .sign (.sign span) but that would assume that wherever else you wanted it had a class of .sign to start with and had no other spans. The reliable solution is as I have done and added a class on the span.
If you meant can you do it without the span then the answer is no.

Please show us the exact code (HTML and CSS) that you’re using. Paul’s code should work, so I think you may have made a mistake somewhere.
And please include a screen shot showing exactly how it does not work.

Dreamweaver is not a browser. Do NOT use Dreamweaver to test the “look” of your code. Use only REAL browsers.
I don’t have time to look into it in detail, but the problem is not caused by the span, but by the nested tables below it. Frankly, I’m amazed your whole layout isn’t more broken, because your sums simply do not add up. For example:

A nested table whose height exceeds that of the containing <td>.
If you’re going to use tables for layout - and we have repeatedly advised you against doing this - that you must, at the very least, ensure your numbers add up (allowing for padding, borders, etc.), or you cannot expect a layout to work as intended.
