I’m using Firefox 3.6b2 and I’m having some issues getting the updates to be permanently disabled. For example, I saw today when I loaded it up that it was “Downloading Firefox Beta 4” (or something like that) up in the “Help” menu. The message appeared to be downloading it as there was an animated status indicator next to the heading of the menu item. I had automatic updates disabled through the “Tools / Options” stuff and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why it updates anyway. Do I need to do something with the About:Config?
The reason I use this version is simply for web design, so if it turns out that I don’t even really need it, fine, but I’d still like to know what I’m doing wrong that makes it disregard my settings. Any insight on this is appreciated.
