Firebug error explanation please

illegal character on the following line:

{\\rtf1\\ansi\\ansicpg1252\\deff0\\deflang1033{\\fonttbl{\\f0\\fswiss\\fcharset0 Arial;}}

but I don’t recall ever writing that line. Nevertheless, firebug says there is an error… but where? What is going on here?

Looks like an rtf file contents?

I bet you’re using something like a word processing program to write code. You need a plain text editor. For example, notepad or notepad++
